Designing a Calendar that Inspires Caring

In terms of the Caring theme, the Ensign Caring Calendar stands out with its unique quotes for every month. Each quote is accompanied by a creative caring story about Ensign and their customers, fitting in with the corresponding monthly theme. The calendar's creative and colorful illustrations create a vibe of happiness, delighting and motivating users as they flip to a new month.

The Ensign Caring Calendar is printed on recycled papers, making it environmentally friendly. With dimensions of 250mm width and 160mm height, it is compact and easy to use.

Heung Kwan Kei, the designer behind this project, successfully overcame several challenges. Creating different caring stories for each monthly message required careful thought and creativity. Additionally, striking a balance between gradient backgrounds and colorful graphics was essential to ensure the graphics remained vibrant and appealing. The visualization of iconic objects and representative elements for different countries where Ensign has offices added another layer of complexity. Finally, presenting Ensign's services in a creative way without being too promotional was a delicate task.

The Ensign Caring Calendar was developed between July 2016 and September 2017 in Hong Kong. It was released internally to Ensign and their customers worldwide. The calendar's design is rooted in Ensign's commitment to professionalism and their solid global network. With branches in China, Singapore, and Indonesia, Ensign provides total logistics solutions and distinguishes itself by maintaining advantageous relationships with major international shipping companies and airlines.

The Ensign Caring Calendar, designed by Heung Kwan Kei, received the Iron A' Design Award in 2018 in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category. This award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Ensign Caring Calendar stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its ability to provide fulfillment and positive feelings, contributing to a better world.
